Regulating Emotional Driving Program
Driving can be stressful and frustrating for your employees, with emotions like anger and tension rising behind the wheel. Recognising these feelings early is key to maintaining control, making safe choices, and reducing the risk of aggressive driving. Discover a path to safer roads for your workplace with the RED Program from the Monash University Accident Research Centre Academy team.
Program Overview
RED is an evidence-based program developed by internationally recognised experts in emotional driving. Unlike conventional driving courses, RED takes a holistic approach to tackling emotional driving that can lead to aggressive behaviours. The program equips drivers with practical tools to recognise, manage, and avoid emotional responses that increase risk on the road.
RED is designed for organisations whose employees use their vehicles as workplaces - one of the riskiest daily activities for workers. Work-related driving carries a heightened risk of emotional triggers, as vehicles become an extension of the job, making it harder to switch off from work-related stress. When a car doubles as an office, frustrations can intensify, affecting focus and decision-making. RED offers a proactive approach, helping drivers recognise these risks and equipping them with the tools to stay safe on the road.
Through self-reflection, goal-setting, and group discussion, the program helps drivers raise awareness of their own risks.
