Senior women in firefighting
Share your career experiences and help shape future research.
The Monash University Accident Research Centre (MUARC) is seeking senior women firefighters from across Australia to participate in a research study exploring the career experiences of women in the fire services.
This study aims to better understand how the fire services have evolved over time through the perspectives of senior women firefighters. Participants will be invited to share their experiences of workplace culture, recruitment, leadership, career progression, and organisational change.
Why participate?
By sharing your experiences, you will contribute to research that seeks to better understand the factors influencing women's careers in the fire services and help inform strategies to improve retention and support future generations of women firefighters.
What's involved?
Participation consists of a confidential, one-hour semi-structured interview conducted via Zoom or telephone. Discussion topics may include:
- Your motivation for joining the fire service
- Your early career experiences
- Leadership and career progression
- Reflections on organisational and cultural change over the course of your career
All interviews are confidential, and responses will be de-identified. Your name and any identifying information will not be associated with your responses.
