Research and projects
The Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation (ACJC) is an interdisciplinary centre for Jewish Studies that sits within the School of Philosophical, Historical and International Studies (SOPHIS) in the Faculty of Arts at Monash University, a Group of Eight university and one of the country’s top research institutions. Its seven full-time academic staff are immersed in the academic study of the cultures, literatures, politics, and histories of Jewish civilisation, as well as in community outreach.
The ACJC is involved in enterprising research and partnerships that engage with and deliver social and cultural impact to the Jewish community, the general public and relevant industry sectors; also included are research partnerships with local organisations and education programs within and beyond the Jewish community.
Research at the ACJC traverses a wide range of disciplines and themes. Our staff have been recognised for the quality and impact of their research through prizes, grants and philanthropic support.
