Translating servant leadership research into practice
Servant leadership research is vast, but practical guidance on how leaders actually apply it day-to-day in real organisations remains thin. We aimed to close that gap.
What did we research?
Servant leadership development, specifically how five evidence-based competencies can be implemented by leaders at any level, regardless of role, seniority, or organisational context.
What did we find?
We synthesised servant leadership research into five core competencies: putting others first, creating value for multiple stakeholders, emotional healing, helping others grow and succeed, and championing empowerment. For each, we developed six concrete, accessible practices leaders can adopt immediately, illustrated through infographics and real organisational examples.
What was the impact?
We give educators, practitioners, and leaders a translation bridge between decades of servant leadership scholarship and everyday workplace application. By showing what each competency looks like in practice through examples from FedEx, Spotify, Zappos, and others, it makes servant leadership teachable and actionable rather than aspirational.
