Honours

Monash Business School offers a one year Honours program to outstanding students. This extra year of study provides you with the opportunity to challenge and extend your knowledge gained during your undergraduate degree. Through an Honours degree you will develop advanced analytical skills, problem-solving, strategic thinking, presentation and communication skills.

The advantages of doing Honours extend beyond one year. Many top employers require their staff to have been selected for an Honours program. In addition, Honours graduates have special expertise which often means a competitive edge over other job applicants. Honours is also the first step towards graduate research study for a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). The Honours year is also the first year of the Master of Commerce (MCom).

    You may select to do Honours in an area you have majored across accounting, acturial studies, business analytics, econometrics, economics, finance, management and marketing.

    All applicants will be ranked and selected based on their academic record and candidate statement. Meeting the minimum application criteria is essential, but this does not guarantee admission into the course.

How to apply

  1. Ensure you meet the minimum entry requirements.
  2. Ensure you have completed the prerequisite units (or met the study point criteria if you are completing a double degree).*
  3. Ensure you meet both the Monash University and English language requirements.
  4. Complete the Honours Supplementary Form.**
  5. Select the 'Apply' button under the Applications and Fees tab of the course page.

**Completion of the Honours Supplementary Form is required and applicants may be requested to attend an interview with the discipline Honours Coordinator.
