Understanding Staff Experience
As part of our commitment to advancing equity, diversity and inclusion at Monash, we continuously seek to gain a deeper understanding of staff experiences. Your feedback and insights are key to identifying the progress we've made and play a crucial role in shaping future strategies and actions that will foster an inclusive, safe and equitable workplace.
We encourage a diversity of perspectives and welcome feedback from everyone at Monash. This includes staff at different levels of employment, from a variety of cultural backgrounds, ethnicities, and faiths, and from staff of all ages, living with a disability, LGBTIQA+ staff, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.
Previous staff consultations
Our previous staff consultations included a series of focus groups on gender equity, to inform progress as well as the development of the next Monash University Gender Equality Action Plan.
Additionally, an insights-gathering session was held with neurodivergent staff to gain a better understanding of their current experiences in the workplace to plan actions to foster a more neuro-inclusive workplace at Monash.
We are also inviting feedback through surveys such as the Monash University Staff Engagement Survey and the biennial Employee Experience Survey, which is a requirement under the Gender Equality Act 2020.
