International Research Safeguards
Some applicants, or research projects, may be subject to Australian Government legislative requirements such as Australian Sanctions, Critical Technology, Export Control or other Public Interest legislation.
Australian sanction laws apply to applicants from countries listed under the Australian government sanctions regimes and student visa visa applicants are subject to enhanced critical technology visa screening.
This can impact your ability to undertake research at Monash University. Make sure you discuss any applicable international research safeguards with your supervisor. Your commencement date may be delayed if we need to seek approval for your research project.
Please refer to Monash University’s Defence Export Controls and Sanctions Policy and Sanctions Compliance Procedure for more information.
