Monash IRT hosts its own remote condition monitoring data and is works with broader Monash University to deliver this big data processing and analysis capability, and more, to the railway industry.

The requirement for efficient data management continues to grow with the drive for connected assets through real time from various types of sensors such as fixed loop detectors, video systems and automatic vehicle location (AVL). Effective dat management and interrogation can deliver automated traffic state estimation and prediction, and decision support systems based on actual data.
