Co-designing a maternal vaccine schedule

Chair: Dr Sandy Reeder, Monash Centre for Health Research & Implementation - Monash University
This project works with parents, healthcare workers and vaccine experts to create an easy-to-follow vaccine schedule (also referred to as a vaccine plan) for pregnancy. The plan will help families know which vaccines are recommended, when to have them, and which vaccines can be given at the same time.
In Australia, many pregnant women have regular check-ups, but not everyone has the recommended vaccines. This is especially true for First Nations families and families from different cultural and language backgrounds. As more vaccines are recommended during pregnancy, families need clear and simple information.
The project will test the new vaccine plan in hospitals and health services. It will see if the plan is easy to use and helpful for families and healthcare workers. The project will also create online tools to help more health services use the plan across Australia.
