About us

Australia’s leading active transport research group

ACTIVATE is led by Healthy Active Cities at Monash University. We are Australia’s leading active transport group, conducting interdisciplinary research in partnership with government, industry, not-for-profit organisations and communities to support healthy, equitable and sustainable cities.

We are internationally recognised for our interdisciplinary, whole-of-system approach to the challenge of car dependency and rapidly increasing the safety and uptake of healthy and sustainable modes of travel.

Our research has informed over $350 million of investment in safe active transport infrastructure and has changed policy and practice globally.
