Profile

Alissia is an academic GP with a research background is in public health clinical trials and women’s sexual and reproductive primary care research. Her doctoral research focuses on long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) as a hormonal treatment for endometriosis in Australian primary care. LARC uptake in Australia is very low, compared to international benchmarks. Her research seeks to understand why it is not being utilised in the treatment of endometriosis, and to develop an intervention to address this.
