Take your medical degree to the next level

If you’re looking to: further enhance your critical thinking and evidence-based medicine skills, gain in-depth learning in a particular area of interest, and make yourself more competitive than your peers, the Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) may be for you!

This optional one-year intercalated BMedSc(Hons) degree allows students to work full-time for a year on a research topic with one of Monash University's large number of internationally acclaimed medical researchers. It will demonstrate that you have made a significant commitment to advancing medical research and guiding the future direction of clinical practice.

Medical students and graduates can apply for BMedSc(Hons) at Monash, after they have completed the first 3-4 years of their medical degree. High achieving BMedSc(Hons) students can also opt to continue their research after Honours, by completing an accelerated PhD via the Monash MD-PhD pathway.

Projects are available in a wide array of research areas.
