How to apply
All domestic students must apply through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) by the close of timely applications - 5pm, Monday 28 September 2026 (Melbourne local time).
Domestic students should refer to the Medicine program admission requirements to confirm their eligibility before applying.
VTAC Course Codes
- 2800311231: School Leaver Entry
- 2800311261: Extended Rural Cohort (ERC)
- 2800311251: Bonded Medical Program (BMP)
Important Note
- Only applicants with at least one Medicine VTAC code on their preferences at the close of timely applications will be eligible for consideration.
- Applicants without a Monash Medicine preference at the close of timely applications cannot add a preference for Monash Medicine at a later date.
- Similarly, any applicant who removes all Monash Medicine preferences after the close of timely applications will not be able to add one back to their preference list, and so will not be eligible to be considered for the course.
Offers
January Round 1 offers will be released by VTAC in mid-January 2027. A smaller number of additional offers will be made in January Round 2, released in late-January 2027, with all applicants considered regardless of when they completed their MMI.
February VTAC round offers will only made to backfill places that become available when applicants who initially accepted an offer in the January rounds later withdraw from the course - historically fewer than 10 places.
For more information on VTAC offer dates, please visit the VTAC website.
Fees and other costs
All domestic applicants are admitted into the program on a Commonwealth Support Place (CSP). More information can be found on the course fees website.
Other expenses domestic students would expect to incur are accommodation, transport and living expenses, plus textbooks and stationery. Read more about cost of living in Melbourne and other study costs.
Indigenous students
The Monash Indigenous Entry Scheme recognises the systemic under representation of Indigenous Australians in higher education and seeks to remedy this.
Indigenous Australian applicants will be exempt from competitive ranking and will instead complete a panel interview. The interview involves meeting with an all-Indigenous panel which includes academics, student engagement staff, and a community member. This panel interview replaces the Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) and the University Clinical Aptitude Test for Australia and New Zealand (UCAT ANZ). To attend an interview simply fill in this form.
