Exhibitions and concerts in 2019: a community engagement initiative
MAMU collaborated with the Campus Centre Management and MPavilion staff to stage regular Sunday afternoon concerts in the sheltered outdoor structure situated on the south lawn of Monash University’s Clayton Campus. Exhibitions in large beautifully-lit glass cabinets situated in the foyer of Monash’s Performing Arts Centre showcased instruments, artefacts, recordings, books and photographs that reflected the cultures of the music being performed in the concerts. The events drew audiences from appreciative diaspora communities delighted to attend performances celebrating their traditions.
