Organisational neuroscience: Digital solutions for performance, wellbeing and mental health

This program integrates organisational neuroscience principles with digital technologies to understand and improve workplace performance, wellbeing, and mental health. Taking an interdisciplinary approach that blends neuroscience, psychology, and digital innovation, we examine how cognitive processes and neural mechanisms shape workplace behaviour, while designing solutions to enhance employee wellbeing and organisational success. Our goal is to foster inclusive and supportive environments that optimise outcomes for both individuals and organisations.

Our current projects address various facets of organisational neuroscience. One project investigates the strengths and challenges faced by neurodivergent individuals in the finance sector, aiming to harness their unique cognitive abilities while addressing potential risks to build a more inclusive workforce. Another longitudinal study focuses on the psychological and lifestyle factors affecting aged care workers. Using advanced techniques such as ecological momentary assessment and psychophysiological evaluation, we analyse how risk and protective factors influence job satisfaction, stress, burnout, productivity, and performance.

In addition, we are developing an innovative virtual reality (VR) suite for neurocognitive assessment and workplace interventions. This cutting-edge technology delivers more accurate, engaging, and ecologically valid evaluations of cognitive functions and emotional states. The VR suite enables us to assess and improve key areas of cognitive performance, including attention, decision-making, emotional regulation, and stress management, ultimately enhancing both employee performance and organisational outcomes.

Through these initiatives, we bridge the gap between neuroscientific research and practical workplace applications. By leveraging digital solutions, we aim to create healthier, more effective, and inclusive organisational environments.
