Project description
The City of Melbourne commissioned Burnet and the Monash Addiction Research Centre to conduct the ‘Drug Harm Reduction in the City of Melbourne’ project. In response to rising opioid overdoses within the municipality, the Future Melbourne Committee (November 2023) committed to enhancing naloxone access. This report provides an overview of overdose response strategies, key findings from a literature review, a summary of roundtable discussions, and five key recommendations for improving responses to opioid-related overdoses.
