Integrating alcohol culture change into positive ageing
The Challenge
Australia’s ‘Baby Boomers’ are drinking more alcohol compared to younger generations, often ignoring health warnings about the increased risk of a range of diseases such as cancer and dementia. A co-designed digital campaign is amplifying stories of positive alcohol culture change to address risky drinking practices.
Our Impact
- Empowering people with alternative socialising and relaxation practices to optimise healthy ageing.
- Contributing to improvements in attitudes, norms and knowledge about low-risk drinking.
- Creating new ‘lived experience’ digital campaign resources to support positive behaviour change.
Project Resources and Knowledge
Our approach shares people’s vibrant and multidimensional stories around their alcohol use through a series of short videos. Our digital health campaign centres around why people drink, and how changing their relationship with alcohol can lead to positive changes in their social lives, the ways they relax, and set them up for healthier ageing.
