Professional Development
The MCSHE offers a range of Professional Development opportunities freely available to academics and professionals interested in health professions and sciences education practice and research.
These opportunities include:
- Biannual online seminars: Featuring expert speakers from both national and international circles, these seminars foster the sharing of innovative research and practices in HPE.
- Annual workshop: Focusses on a key aspect of good practice in health professions education or research methodologies within the field.
- Mini writing retreats: Intended to build a community of health education researchers, the retreats will offer time, space and mentoring for academics of all experience levels.

Workshop
The 2024 workshop was delivered as part of the Learning and Teaching Symposium, in collaboration with the Monash Education Academy, with the topic of 'Choosing a HPE research methodology.' Information about the 2025 workshop will be posted soon.
Mini writing retreats
The mini-writing retreats are open to Monash University academics, at any stage along their health education research writing journey. Facilitated by experienced education researcher Professor Michelle Lazarus, the mini-writing retreats are intended to provide an opportunity for collaborative discussion about scholarly challenges, as well as dedicated time to writing.
