Maternal conditions that complicate obstetric care

This 1-day, live online course, will be presented by a wide variety of interdisciplinary specialists together with maternal fetal medicine (MFM) sub-specialists to discuss case studies, and the latest evidence and key considerations  for managing complications during pregnancy.

Date: Saturday, 3 May, 2025

Time: 8am - 4pm

Delivery mode: Live online. The on-demand content will be available for three months after the course date.

Participants

This multidisciplinary and interactive course is aimed at Obstetricians, Obstetric Physicians, GP Obstetricians, Trainees, Midwives and other doctors and health professionals interested in maternal medicine.

  • Renal disorders in pregnancy
  • Haematological complications in pregnancy
  • Respiratory complications in pregnancy
  • Diabetes in pregnancy
  • Maternal autoimmune complications in pregnancy
  • Infections in pregnancy
  • Gastroenterology - IBD
  • Neurological complications in pregnancy

There will also be an opportunity for you to bring case-studies for further discussion.

A/Prof. Kirsten Palmer FRANZCOG, CMFM, MBBS (Hons), PhD, B.Biomed Sci.
A/Prof Palmer is an obstetrician and Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist at Monash Medical Centre. She serves as Head of Maternal Fetal Medicine, Monash Medical Centre, and is an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow. A clinician-scientist at Monash University, she is also a Clinical Associate at The Ritchie Centre, Hudson Institute.
