Monash Children's Hospital Simulation Centre (MCH Simulation) is a collaboration between Monash Children’s Hospital and the Department of Paediatrics, Monash University, in particular, Paediatric surgery and acute care, combining expert clinicians with a world-leading paediatric simulation facilities that includes a full functioning operating theatre, paediatric and neonatal ward environment and also multiple purpose technologically advanced educational spaces. Its vision is to improve the care that is provided to the children of Victoria with well constructed educational simulation-based courses and world-leading research streams. MCH Simulation embraces novel technology and partners with other departments at Monash University to further advance clinical care. There is a strong International simulation streams with collaborative projects with the W.H.O and also the successful ONE Sim Workshops. MCH Simulation also works closely with key Educational Leaders such as Prof Debra Nestel at Monash University for the postgraduate educational courses.

It all started during the COVID-19 pandemic and the global and domestic travel restrictions. For Professor Ram Nataraja, the travel bans meant he and his team could no longer train surgeons from interstate and overseas as they had been.
