Christo Karunananthan
Senior Lecturer, Accounting
Prior to completing his PhD at the University of Michigan, Christo worked in insolvency for Ferrier Hodgson and Co. Chartered Accountants, project accounting for Telstra, and audit and investment banking for KPMG, all in Melbourne. He returned to Monash University two years ago after seventeen years in the U.S., having been employed at the University of California at Irvine, University of Houston, and University of Southern California. Christo has taught students ranging from senior executives to undergraduates. Currently, he teaches strategic management accounting to masters-level students using the case method. Students in his class engage in complex decision-making and problem-solving pertaining to real-world organisational and societal issues. By influencing students to engage in high quality thinking leading to desired behavioural change, Christo instills in his class a vibrant student-centred coaching culture whereby students are inspired to practise responsible leadership to benefit themselves, the organisations they work for, and society overall. Christo’s research areas are broad and lie on the intersection of culture and governance. He is currently developing a values-based leadership framework that uses a purpose-driven scorecard as an accountability tool. Christo has visited and also presented his research at leading universities worldwide like U C Berkeley, Northwestern University, Harvard University, the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, University of Toronto, University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, and London Business School. He is on the editorial board of a leading academic journal and reviews for the top journals in business. |
Ingrid Landau
Lecturer, Business Law and Taxation
Ingrid holds a Bachelor of Asian Studies (Hons) and LLB (Hons) from the Australian National University. She is currently completing her doctoral studies in the Centre for Employment and Labour Relations Law and the Centre for International Law and the Humanities at Melbourne Law School. Ingrid researches and teaches in the areas of employment law, and global business and human rights. She has a strong interest in fostering responsible management education and practice in the Asia Pacific, particularly in the areas of labour and human rights. Her current research projects focus on regulatory approaches to human rights due diligence, and on the potential applications of technology to improve transparency and management of labour rights risks in corporate supply chains. |
