Sky Room
Sky Room is a Monash Business School event space designed to host high-profile events in Melbourne's CBD. Located on level 14 at 30 Collins Street, the premium space features state-of-the-art technology, teleconferencing capabilities and leafy views across Melbourne city. The space can be configured to cater for up to 100 people standing, 77 people seated Theatre Style or 48 people seated Banquet Style.
The Sky Room is available for Monash University Staff to hire at the below rates and applications may be made by completing the booking form below:

The following caterers have been inducted into the Sky Room space.
Any external catering company not on the approved catering list needs to complete a catering induction conducted by the Security Team at 30 Collins St a minimum of two weeks prior to an event. To have a new caterer inducted please email BusEco-30Collins@monash.edu.

Capacity

The spaces at 30 Collins St have maximum capacities.The overall space cannot cater to more than the capacity limit.The Sky room capacity:
- Theatre Style 77 seated
- Banquet Style 48 seated
- 100 capacity standing

If your event goes beyond this capacity, you may wish to reconsider your choice of venue. The Monash University Venues Team may be able to assist you further.

If there are changes to your event, you must email these to buseco-30collins@monash.edu two (2) working days before your event start date in order for them to be actioned.

Last minute changes to set ups on the day is not something we're likely to be able to do due to staffing restrictions, so as long as all the requirements are in the calendar booking, they will be accommodated the day/night before the event is scheduled to take place.

The contact point is the event organiser. The escalation point for the event organiser is the BOS Officer. The event organiser can contact BOS Clayton and local/building issues can be referred to Security. Please ensure the event organiser has provided their mobile number in the booking form for the event team.

There is no permanent onsite MBUS staff presence at 30 Collins St. Your first point of contact is your BOS Officer 03 9903 1555 (Option 2). Note this is not available for weekend events. If you require urgent assistance you can see Monash Security on the ground floor or via phone on 03 9903 8255 / 0488400162.

Yes. This can be arranged easily via the Business Operations Support team. Please provide notice a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the event for new caterers to be inducted.
Accessing the space

If you require a FOB to go to Level 14 please see Security on the ground floor. If the event finishes after 6pm please return the FOB to the Security desk where there is a Black Mesh Cup leave the FOB in.It is the responsibility of the Hirer to ensure all FOBs that were issued are returned to Security at the conclusion of your event.

Events that run on weekends, public holidays or on weekdays after 5:00 PM require the event organiser to book a security officer. Security officers are booked through SCOUT or by contacting security on Ext. 27777 or security@monash.edu.

Any event that runs after 5:00 PM where alcohol is served will require the event organiser to book a security guard. Security guards can be booked through SCOUT or by contacting security on Ext. 27777 or security@monash.edu.

The hire of the Sky Room is for the facilities on level 14 only, this includes the Sky Room, kitchen, lounge area and catering kitchen.The Business Centre and Meeting Room require a separate booking. You can contact buseco-30collins@monash.edu.

Discount Parking is available at First Parking at Collins Place.
The discount below applies to Monash staff and guests for parking at First Parking, 28 Flinders Lane, and became effective from Monday 9 October.
There are now two options for users:
- Regular ticketed system - validate at 30 Collins St
- Users will still be required to collect a ticket upon entry to the car park and present either to security (ground floor) or Monash Conference Centre (MCC) staff (level 7 or 11) for validation.
- Online account (suitable for frequent users and Execs)
- Users can create an account (guide attached) with First Parking, and will automatically access the Monash University discounted rate of $18 per day. This eliminates the process of needing to validate each trip.

There is a public loading zone at the front of the building on Collins St.Alternatively you can park in Ridgeway Place at the back of the building to unload. Cars parked in Ridgeway Place must ensure they do not block any entrances including the Lyceum Club and the driveway to the basement carpark.

Lifts work 8am–5:30pm.Events operating after this time will need to advise the BOS team, so they can advise security to provide access prior to the event.

If you wish to book an event at 30 Collins and do not have a cost centre and fund you will not be able to secure the room. If an external organisation wants to book these spaces a Monash Department/School/Centre or Faculty will be required to pay using a Monash Cost Centre and Fund.

The only events permitted on levels 13 and 14 at 30 Collins Street are industry focussed and are hosted by Monash University or their alumni. For example, Executive Education Masterclasses, workshops and seminars.

- Business centre (Room 1303 - level 13): Teleconferencing capabilities, single screen, PC, and laptop connection (this room also has 3 computers on the desk next to the boardroom table).
- Meeting Room (Room 1304 - level 13): Single screen, camera, PC, and web (Zoom) conferencing and laptop connectivity.
- Sky Room (Room 1402 - level 14): Large presentation screen, Teleconferencing Capabilities, Zoom, Adjustable multi camera, PC, laptop lectern connectivity, room microphones (4 hand held mics, 4 lapel mics, 12 table top mics)

If support is during business hours, please call ext 55155 this is the priority Hotline Number for AV issues. Please note eSolutions will attempt to resolve the issue remotely through IP Camera in the first instance, however if this is unsuccessful they will request attendance from the Service Centre located in the CBD.It is recommended that you book AV support in advance by calling eSolutions on 03 9905 1777 or emailing servicedesk@monash.edu if you have concerns about your AV or AV-related presentations.

Support after 6pm involves an additional cost (your Cost centre and Fund source will be charged) and needs to be requested at least five working days before the event.Requests can be made by email to servicedesk@monash.edu should you need to book after-hours onsite support in advance

Depending on which MAC model they have, the presenter will need to bring along a mini display port to HDMI cable or a type C USB cable. However, we would suggest you establish this with the presenter in advance, and contact eSolutions to confirm the requirements at least one week preceding your event.

Cancellation policy

Event cancellations are free of charge if written notification is received by the Business Operations Support Team 10 business day cooling off period where the booker can cancel without a charge, after which (50%) of the booking fee will be charged in the billing month that the event was cancelled. Where written notification of cancellation is received less than four (4) weeks prior to the event start date, the Hirer will incur (100%) of the hire fee.
Music

There are three (3) music zones on Level 14, 30 Collins St, playing a pre-set music track. These zones are controlled by wall plates in the different areas; balcony, breakout area and kitchen. The volume is a manual control on the wall. If sound is not required in one of the zones then the volume needs to be turned all the way down.
