Assessment feedback
Students are encouraged to review available feedback on assessment tasks.
Information provided on Moodle
In the first instance, check your unit’s Moodle site for information on how you will be provided with feedback on assessment tasks, and when you will receive the feedback.
Feedback on final assessment tasks
Feedback for final assessment tasks is only made available after the official university results release date. Information on how to access this feedback should be provided by your Chief Examiner on the unit Moodle site.
Re-mark requests
Students don’t have an automatic right to a re-mark.
- Note that you can only request a re-mark of an assessment task if you believe there has been a marking error. A student cannot request a correction of their mark on the basis that they do not agree with the mark, or they believe the feedback to be inadequate (section 5.2, Marking and Feedback Procedure).
- All fail marks are double marked (cross checked by another academic) to confirm the grade, before the result is finalised. Failing a unit is not grounds for a re-mark.
- Unit assessment tasks marks are often determined via a moderation process that ensures assessment activities are consistently marked.
If you believe that a marking error has occurred, after reviewing the available feedback, reach out to the tutor or Chief Examiner of the unit. Be sure to outline why you believe an error has been made.
Re-mark request timeline
You must submit your request for a re-mark within six weeks of the results release date, or within 10 working days after the mark was released for in semester assessment (section 5.3 Marking and Feedback Procedure). Where a request is granted by the Chief Examiner of the unit and the original mark is found to be incorrect, the error will be corrected and the revised mark will stand, even if the revised mark is lower than the original.
