Overseas opportunities
Monash Abroad can facilitate a range of overseas opportunities to enhance your studies, including:
- Exchange - study at a partner university for one or two semesters
- MGCI – Monash Global Campus Intensives (Prato) - immerse yourself in intensive study with a small group of fellow students
- GIG - Global Immersion Guarantee - study a fieldwork unit overseas in your first year of study
Be sure to join an info session to learn more about your options and also check your eligibility for each program. Some programs require students to have elective space available in their course.
Make sure you consider your Course Map prior to submitting a Monash Abroad application – the units offered overseas must be a good fit for your timely course progression.

MGCI (Monash Global Campus Intensives): Study in Prato - mid-to-late 2026
Details about Prato options for 2026 - in Fine Art, Art History and Curating, Design, and Architecture - will be available on the Prato webpage, along with information about applying to study in Prato.
Fine Art at Prato
Fine Art students are encouraged to apply for the Tess and Bill Hawtin Scholarship - this is for students in need of financial support so as to have the opportunity to travel as part of their Fine Art degree.
Architecture Global Study Tours
Each year the Department of Architecture runs Global Study Tours as part of select studios and studies units. These undergraduate and postgraduate offerings allow students to engage with real architecture, urban planning, and urban design projects with communities and stakeholders in both regional and global contexts. Global study tours are often supported by in-country institutions, schools, or practices. They can provide students with new perspectives as well as with new personal and professional connections to other students, practitioners and academics.
Past Architecture trips
Past trips have taken students to Kunshan China, Kobe Japan, Galle Sri Lanka and Warsaw Poland - take a look at this video to find out more.
