Student Ambassador Program

Are you a student who loves their studies and wants to inspire others? Monash Art, Design and Architecture has an amazing opportunity for you! We are looking for positive, friendly, and confident speakers to become Student Ambassadors for each of our degrees.

As an ambassador, you will represent our faculty at various marketing and recruitment events, engaging with prospective students and sharing your experiences. You'll also help with event management and might even appear in webinars or videos, so being comfortable on camera and with social media is a must.

The Student Ambassador Program is a key part of our outreach efforts, and as an ambassador, you'll get to connect with future students and show them all the amazing activities we have to offer, such as tours, information sessions, workshops, and open days. Plus, you'll gain valuable skills in public speaking, event management, and marketing, making this a fantastic opportunity to enhance your resume.

  • Excellent communication skills- particularly verbal
  • Positive attitude to participate and learn
  • Flexibility- as dates will vary depending on events
  • The program is open to all current undergraduate students enrolled in any Monash Art, Design and Architecture degrees, who have completed at least one year of study and not in their final year of study.

Time commitment

Time commitment for the program is approximately 30 hours each year.

Compensation

To compensate your for your contribution, successful students will be paid as a casual staff member (with a rolling contract) on an hourly basis.

1 year- rolling casual contract

Responsibilities

As a student ambassador, participants will have a range of responsibilities such as providing tours of the Monash Art, Design and Architecture spaces and representing the faculty at events by sharing their experiences with prospective students. They may also be called upon to assist with other recruitment and marketing initiatives such as social media engagement.

Successful students will be considered a casual staff member and as such will need to adhere to all Monash staff policies and procedures. Successful students will also be required to attend a training prior to starting and to apply for a paid Working With Children Check (WWCC) which will be reimbursed by the faculty.

Key dates

  • Applications open 10 March to 29 March (inclusive)
  • Shortlisted students will be contacted for an interview shortly for early April
  • Successful students will be contacted mid-late April
  • Orientation and training will be held in late April/ early May
