Registrars

The teams at the Gippsland and North West Victoria Regional Training Hubs are here to help registrars. Depending on your specialty, the Hubs offer short-course training and forums that you can access.

Below are some of the key areas in which we can support you.

Medical research development

The DRIVERS (Doctors for Regional Innovation, Vision, Excellence, Research and Scholarship) conference is presented yearly by the North West Victoria Regional Training Hub, to highlight and showcase academic innovation and excellence in rural and regional medicine. It is a great opportunity for regional junior doctors, registrars, fellows, consultants and medical students to present to an audience of their peers. Pre-conference workshops are also offered to support early career researchers to develop their research presentations.

Mentoring opportunities

The Dr JuMP program provides a platform for regional medical professionals to connect and grow by facilitating relationships, whilst also providing mentoring support, education, event and networking opportunities.

Supervision training

The Monash Rural Health Clinical Teaching and Education Pathway is designed to strengthen teaching and supervisory capacities among registrars working within regional health services.

Monash alumni support

If you’re an alumni you can access the Monash Alumni Program, designed to open opportunities of all kinds for Monash graduates. The Hubs themselves organise Alumni-focused events too, such as Gippsland’s 10 year celebration of the Monash Churchill Medical School.

Contact us if you’d like to know how we can support your registrar journey. Below are additional supports offered by external organisations.

Tom Carins
"All doctor’s positions involve some aspect of teaching, but we rarely receive any formal teaching. I realised that I needed tools to be able to provide necessary feedback in teaching settings. I regularly use a toolbox of techniques developed from this course every day in my role of teaching junior doctors and medical students."
