Supervision
Monash’s Regional Training Hubs offer a range of upskilling opportunities for medical professionals interested in supervising and teaching students, interns and junior doctors.
Clinical Teaching and Education Pathway
Clinical teaching and education are central to so much of what we do. We want to support you to build your clinical teaching and education knowledge and skills. Our three-stage Clinical Teaching and Education Pathway allows you to practically explore your interest in education through face-to-face learning and assessment.
Teaching Communication in the Clinical Workplace
This workshop will help staff in teaching or supervision roles to develop their skills and confidence, to teach communication in the clinical workplace.
Clinicians who teach or supervise staff should attend to:
- Understand the evidence-based frameworks and models for teaching effective and efficient communication in health care, and how to personalise this for your own clinical area
- Develop and use ‘communication language’ to identify the skills and cues of learners and maximise experiential learning in the workplace
- Understand how providing meaningful feedback is essential for reflective practice and learner-led opportunities for developing their skills in communication in healthcare.
Check our News & Events page for upcoming Teaching Communication in the Clinical Workplace sessions.
