Clinical Teaching and Education Pathway
Clinical teaching and education are central to so much of what we do. We want to support you in building your clinical teaching and education knowledge and skills. Our three-stage Clinical Teaching and Education Pathway allows you to practically explore your interest in education through face-to-face learning and assessment.
Program structure
Stage 1: Introduction to Clinical Teaching and Education
Explore the basic principles of teaching and learning, as well as the role of communication, feedback and assessment. This introductory stage is delivered over four hours and is recognised by ACRRM for CPD points.
Participation in Stage 1 is sponsored by the Monash Regional Training Hubs.
Stage 2: Quality Supervision and Clinical Education
Extend your learning from Stage 1 with a full-day course in quality supervision, delivered by the Monash Centre for Scholarship in Health Education. This stage is designed to deepen your understanding of clinical education, teaching and supervision of students and other junior colleagues.
Stage 2 is recognised by RACGP for 7 hours of CPD.
Stage 2 participation is dependent on your successful application for a place sponsored by the Monash Regional Training Hubs. The full-day course is valued at $650 per participant.
Stage 3: Assessment
If you have completed Stages 1 and 2, you can also choose to complete the assessment components of the course:
- an online reflective audio diary process for 12 weeks.
- a written reflection on your learning.
- a written analytical paper.
Stage 3 is offered at a discounted cost of $990 (normally $2990) to Clinical Teaching and Education Pathway participants.
Upon completion of the assessment, you will receive six credit points. These can be used towards a Graduate Certificate of Health Professions Education or a Graduate Certificate of Clinical Simulation.
