MPH5003 - Global health virtual practicum

MPH5215 - Qualitative research methods
We have transitioned our very popular 'Qualitative Research Methods for Public Health' short course to a full 12-week coursework unit. Each week covers a specific topic, with a two-hour weekly online workshop with teaching and activities. Students conducting qualitative research are encouraged to bring their data to use throughout the activities in the workshops. If you are interested in acquiring practical skills required to design and assess qualitative research, then this is the unit for you.
MPH5223 - Culture, society and health
This unit explores health, and health outcomes, influenced by culture and society, at individual and population levels. It provides skills to enhance understanding of the perspectives of First Nations Australians ways of knowing, being and doing. The unit also explores culturally and socially diverse communities, focusing on improving health and wellbeing, to enhance experiences and improve impacts of the health and social care systems. The consequences of socio-economic disadvantage, inequality and inequity, and discrimination, and how these can be addressed in health settings, are a key focus.
MPH5239 - Systematic reviews and meta-analysis
Critical appraisal of literature reviews; problem formulation and protocol development; intra-rater agreement for assessment of relevance; validity assessments; data collection forms; variation between study findings, combining the findings of independent studies, inferences based upon overviews; statistics of meta analysis, Cochrane Collaboration.
