Introduction to Stata
This course provides an introduction to the statistical analysis software program Stata, covering basic data management issues and popular epidemiological analyses.

The course is self-paced and involves participants working through a detailed course manual, covering the following topics:
- Entering data
- Using commands on menus
- Data labelling
- Descriptive statistics
- Epidemiological data analysis including logistic regression
- Do-files and log-files
Further information
Please note: participants must bring their own laptop for this course.
Stata can be accessed in one of three ways:
- already installed on your machine
- accessed through the MoVE platform (Monash staff and students)
- installed with a course-specific temporary licence
Details of the latter two options will be emailed to course registrants.
Confirmation of access to Stata is required before attending the course.
(Course facilitators cannot provide assistance with MoVE or Stata installation issues on the day of the course.)
Who should attend?
This introduction is suitable for those who have never used a computer to perform statistical analysis, but who have a basic understanding of statistical concepts such as histograms, t-tests, linear regression and odds ratios.
