New edition of Hazard shows extent of occupational violence and aggression injuries for workers in healthcare settings
The latest edition of the Victorian Injury Surveillance Unit’s Hazard publication provides an in-depth epidemiological overview of occupational violence and aggression (OVA) injuries sustained by Victorian workers in healthcare settings.
The publication reveals there were 181 hospital admissions and 1171 ED presentations for OVA-related injuries between 2016/17 and 2020/21.
It is a timely report for Australia's National Safe Work Month & Victoria's Health and Safety Month October campaigns, both with the overarching message that a safe and healthy workplace benefits everyone.
