Professor Judith Charlton recognised in Queen's Birthday Honours
Monash University Accident Research Centre (MUARC) is incredibly proud to congratulate Professor Judith Charlton who was recognised in this year's Queen's Birthday honours.
Jude was honoured with an AM in the General Division of the Order of Australia for significant service to road safety and injury prevention research.
Since joining MUARC as a Senior Research Fellow in 2000, Jude's contribution to her field of research is indisputable. She has authored over 200 publications, most notably amassing over two decades of world-renowned research on the safe mobility of older drivers and child passengers.
Jude has headed international collaborations including the Ozcandrive Older Driver Cohort Study and served on numerous national and international advisory and scientific committees.
As Director of MUARC since 2015, Jude's leadership has positioned the Centre to continue to uphold its reputation as a leader in injury prevention research. During this time, she has led the Centre's Behavioural Safety Science team while also serving as Director of the World Health Organisation’s Collaborating Centre for Injury and Violence Prevention.
Jude has also left an indelible mark on the next generation of scholars, having supervised over 20 PhD, Masters and honours graduates in road safety research.
Jude's Queen's Birthday recognition is testament to her commitment to championing and achieving a safer society.
