Terms and Conditions
Day 1 of the course introduces the first two steps of the EBP process, including research designs. Day 2 of the course introduces steps 3 and 4, and focuses on the critical appraisal aspect of EBP.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in theory and practical learning opportunities across the two days.
Learning objectives

- Design clinical research methodologies
- Understand the principles of EBP
- Construct a clinical question
- Effectively search the medical literature
- Interpret biomedical data
- Critically appraise clinical research

Day 1
- Asking the answerable question
- Clinical scenarios and PICO
- Searching the literature
- Quantitative study designs
- Which research design is best?
Day 2
- Data in EBP
- Assessing bias in studies
- Designing the perfect study
- Critical appraisal techniques
Who should attend?
This course is targeted at health practitioners (including medical doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, pharmacists, and other allied health professionals), biomedical and public health researchers, and those working in the health industry who are interested in understanding the basics of clinical research and the principles of evidence based practice (EBP).
