This page details the key dates specific to exchange and study abroad students. The orientation dates shown apply to Australian students – if you'll be studying at Monash Malaysia your orientation will take place during the University orientation week.

2027 Important dates

Semester one

1 November, 2026	Exchange student application submission deadline for study in Semester one, 2027
1 December, 2026	Study Abroad student application submission deadline for study in Semester one, 2027
Monday 15 February and Wednesday 7 July	For students living on-campus*, accommodation contract will begin and end
Monday 15 February	Students to arrive on/before this date
Tuesday 16 - Friday 19 February	Monash Abroad Orientation
Monday 22 – Friday 26 February	Monash University ‘O’ Week
Monday 1 March	Classes commence
Monday 29 March - Friday 2 April	Mid-semester break
Friday 28 May	Classes conclude
Monday 31 May - Friday 4 June	Swot vac (study leave, no classes)
Monday 7 June – Friday 25 June	Exam period

Semester two

1 April	Exchange student application submission deadline for study in Semester two, 2027
1 May	Study Abroad student application submission deadline for study in Semester two, 2027
Friday 9 July and Monday 6 December	For students living on-campus*, accommodation contract will begin and end
Monday 12 July	Students to arrive on/before this date
Tuesday 13 - Friday 16 July	Monash Abroad Orientation
Monday 19 – Friday 23 July	Monash University ‘O’ Week
Monday 26 July	Classes commence
Monday 20 - Friday 24 September	Mid-semester break

* On-campus accommodation contract dates are for Monash University Residential Village – longer contracts are in place for Urban Community.
