This page details the key dates specific to exchange and study abroad students. The orientation dates shown apply to Australian students – if you'll be studying at Monash Malaysia your orientation will take place during the University orientation week.

2026 Important dates

Semester one

1 November, 2025	Exchange student application submission deadline for study in Semester one, 2026
1 December, 2025	Study Abroad student application submission deadline for study in Semester one, 2026
Monday 16 February and Wednesday 8 July	For students living on-campus*, accommodation contract will begin and end
Monday 16 February	Students to arrive on/before this date
Tuesday 17 - Friday 20 February	Monash Abroad Orientation
Monday 23 – Friday 27 February	Monash University ‘O’ Week
Monday 2 March	Classes commence
Monday 6 - Friday 10 April	Mid-semester break
Friday 29 May	Classes conclude
Monday 1 - Friday 5 June	Swot vac (study leave, no classes)
Monday 8 June – Friday 26 June	Exam period

Semester two

1 April	Exchange student application submission deadline for study in Semester two, 2026
1 May	Study Abroad student application submission deadline for study in Semester two, 2026
Friday 10 July and Monday 7 December	For students living on-campus*, accommodation contract will begin and end
Monday 13 July	Students to arrive on/before this date
Tuesday 14 - Friday 17 July	Monash Abroad Orientation
Monday 20 – Friday 24 July	Monash University ‘O’ Week
Monday 27 July	Classes commence
Monday 21 - Friday 25 September	Mid-semester break

* On-campus accommodation contract dates are for Monash University Residential Village – longer contracts are in place for Urban Community.
