First Steps Sessions
Interested in studying overseas but don’t know where to start? The First Step series is recommended for all students interested in spending time studying overseas as part of their degree.
The First Steps series provides an overview of the different overseas study options available. This series also provides information on program eligibility requirements and the application process.

Exchange and Study Abroad Information Sessions
Do you want to participate in an exchange or independent study abroad program? The first step is attending an Exchange and Study Abroad Information Session.
Exchange and Study Abroad Information Sessions provide you with the details you will need to apply.
Some of the information covered includes:
- The exchange and study abroad journey (lifecycle of an exchange and study abroad application)
- Researching your options (course planning and faculty advice)
- How to submit your application
- How your application is assessed - what key elements are considered?
- Putting together your study plan (choosing units, outlines etc)
- Finances and funding available
There will also be the opportunity to ask International Education Coordinators (IECs) any questions you may have regarding your own exchange journey.

Global Intercampus Program (Studying in Malaysia)
The Global Intercampus Program (GIP) lets you undertake one or two semesters of study towards your degree at Monash University Malaysia campus. To learn more about the program, check out the Study in Malaysia website and come along to an upcoming information session.

Regional Advising Videos
Regional Advising Videos introduce you to semester exchange opportunities for the areas of the world in which you are interested. These are led by the relevant International Education Coordinator (IEC), who talk you through all the information you need to know about the various partners in that region. You can watch these videos in your own time at the links below.
Individual Advising Sessions
If you need advice specific to your individual circumstances, and you have attended an information session, you can book a 1:1 Zoom session with the relevant IEC.
Click on the region you're interested in below, to access the booking links for 1:1 Advising sessions. Please note that these sessions are only for students applying for semester exchange or independent study abroad (ISA) programs, not short-term, virtual or global campus programs.
Appointments for the 1:1 Advising will be available during select weeks of semester.
