Bishop's University

Bishop's University

Founded in 1843 “to offer the country a sound and liberal education”, Bishop's University (BU) is a predominantly residential, undergraduate university. Its primary concern is offering students a quality education in arts, sciences, business and education.

Academic highlights

A predominantly residential university for its 2,200 students, BU emphasises an immersive liberal education. Its unique social environment and small class sizes create a nurturing and memorable university experience.

Location

BU is located in the Eastern Townships region of the province of Quebec, a region just north of the border with the US state of Vermont, known for breath-taking scenery, wine-making and tourism. The campus is known as 'Oxford on the Massawippi' for its architectural style, significantly influenced by the Gothic Revival period and home to some of Quebec's most historic buildings, including St. Mark's Chapel.
