Education, Engagement & Communities

AMR is a problem in every community, home and workplace in Australia. The Centre to Impact AMR has a working group dedicated to educating and engaging with the most hard to reach places.

Our community actions include engaging and supporting AMR Survivors, as well as education programs, working across disciplines to deliver information and behaviour change through formal education channels, initially aimed at preschool and primary school communities.

Climate change promotes the problems of AMR. The Centre to Impact AMR engages with organisations focussed on the climate crisis to promote sustainable solutions in a harmonised framework of actions. Sustainable solutions to AMR are aligned and consistent with the United Nations Nagoya Protocol on Access and Benefit Sharing with Indigenous Peoples. We are committed to partnering with Traditional Owners to access and heal water and lands where AMR is spreading.

Vision:

  • To work with diverse communities in order to develop strategies for managing the impact of AMR
  • To use creative methods to translate AMR research and information into accessible health messaging to develop individual and community health/science literacy
  • To use creative methods to lobby for policy reform with regards to AMR

At our core, we believe in the power of creativity to bridge the gap between science and society. We utilise innovative methods to translate AMR knowledge into engaging and easily understandable content, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background, can grasp the importance of this global challenge. By breaking down complex concepts into relatable and impactful messages, we empower individuals to make informed decisions about their health and contribute to collective efforts in combating AMR.
