Importing and exporting your ePorfolio
If you want to save a copy of your ePortfolio, you can export the collection or page in Leap2A or html.
- Go to the portfolios menu and select Export.
- Choose an export format:
- HTML: Best for standard web viewing. Your pages can be read by any web browser.
- Leap2A: Best for preserving your portfolio's structure. Your files, journals, pages, collections, and profile information will retain their connections and can be imported back into Mahara or another compatible ePortfolio platform.
- Configure your Export options:
- Select what you want to export: All my data, just some of my pages, or just some of my collections.
- If exporting as HTML, you can optionally check the box to Include user feedback to preserve comments left on your work. (Note: This option is not available for Leap2A exports)
- Click Generate export. Once processing is complete, look for the zipped file in your computer's downloads folder.
- To view an HTML export: Extract the zipped file, open the folder, and click on index.html. This will open your exported portfolio pages in your web browser so you can verify the content.
- To import a Leap2A export back into Mahara:
- Go to the portfolios menu and click Import.
- Click Choose file, locate your zipped Leap2A file on your computer, and click Open.
- Click Import to start processing the file.
- On the configuration page, choose how to merge the data (e.g., whether to include or ignore imported profile info, files, journals, or pages).
- Click Import to finalise the merge. You will receive a success note, and you can verify the content in your pages area.
