Submit

Once you have completed your podcast you will need to submit it on Moodle. Make sure you leave yourself plenty of time to do this, as finalising your file(s) and uploading them can take a long time.

How to upload audio to Moodle

Note

If specific requirements for uploading have been provided in your unit, make sure you follow your assessed task instructions exactly.

If specific requirements have not been provided in your unit, you can use the following steps to upload your completed podcast for submission.

There are different options depending on if you wish to upload or embed your audio file directly to Moodle (if the file size allows), or if you have already uploaded your file to an online hosting platform and need to use a ‘share’ link.

Click on the tabs below to view instructions for the different options.

If your assessment has a file submissions field, you can upload an audio file in the same way that you would normally attach a file as part of the assessment submission process.

Either:

  • Drag and drop the file from your file browser into the box

or:

  • Click on the add icon to open the file picker pop-up window and choose a file from your computer to upload.

Once your file has uploaded, make sure you click save changes, then continue with the regular assessment submission process.

If your assessment has an online text field, you can embed your audio file directly into the text box by clicking on the insert or edit an audio/video file button.

Then in the pop-up window which appears, click the audio tab, and click the browse repositories button to select your audio file and insert the media.

After your file has uploaded, make sure you click save changes, then continue with the regular assessment submission process.

To share an audio file which you have uploaded to an online hosting platform such as Google Drive, paste the sharing link into the online text box on Moodle.

After you have pasted in your link, make sure you click save changes, then continue with the regular assessment submission process.

Note

Make sure that you have selected the appropriate share settings on the hosting platform so that your assessor will be able to access the file.

If your assessment does not have an online text box and you need to use a sharing link, another option is to upload a text document that includes the link as part of the document. If you are not sure, check your Moodle site for the specific instructions for your unit, and if you are still unsure or cannot find the relevant instructions, ask your unit coordinator.
