Study tools and exam preparation

Under the Studio tab in NotebookLM, you will find a number of useful tools to help you study and prepare for your exams. Some tools are excellent for auditory learners, and others for more visual learners. Below is a list of some of the features found under the Studio tab:

  • Audio Overview
Gives you a quick, easy to listen summary of the main ideas. This is great for revising on the go or reinforcing content through auditory learning - just like a podcast.
  • Video Overview
Provides a short, clear video explanation of the key points. Videos can help you visualise tricky concepts and make revision more engaging.
  • Mind Map
Shows your ideas in a visual web so you can see how everything connects. This can help you understand the “big picture” and remember relationships between concepts for exams.
  • Reports
Presents your information in a well‑organised written format with clear sections. Reports are useful when you need a deeper explanation to revise from or prepare study notes.
  • Flashcards
Breaks your content into simple question‑and‑answer cards. Flashcards are great for active recall, one of the most effective study techniques for exam memory.
  • Quiz
Creates questions that test your understanding of the topic. Quizzes help you check what you know, spot gaps, and build confidence before an exam.
  • Infographic
Turns information into an easy‑to‑read visual summary. Infographics help you quickly review the most important facts and are perfect for last‑minute revision.
  • Slide Deck
Summarises your content into clean, simple slides. These slides are helpful for revising key ideas or presenting your understanding to others.
  • Data Table
Organises details into a clear, structured table. This is especially useful when you need to compare information or study patterns and trends for exams.
