Global Self-sourced Co-Curricular Experience
Global Self-sourced Co-Curricular Experience
Registration Form only: this form is for students who have met the eligibility requirements and been made an offer of support to undertake travel overseas for a study related activity.
Co-curricular experiences are overseas activities related to your studies, but which do not involve you getting credit. These experiences are self-initiated and usually involve a short project, entrepreneurial program, conference or leadership experience abroad. These work placements are not eligible for Monash funding.
You organise these experiences yourself, usually in response to an opportunity advertised through your faculty, by a Monash group, club or society. Each experience works differently, so make sure you research carefully and follow the advice provided by the organiser on program dates, details and costs.
Overseas co-curricular experiences can qualify for complimentary travel insurance. To do so, your overseas experience must be Monash endorsed and registered with Monash Abroad.
What to do?
Register with Monash Abroad using this form at least 6 weeks prior to departure. Engaging with Monash Abroad to register your participation in a Global Co-Curricular Experience will not result in you receiving help to organise your overseas experience as you should have done this already. Only registrations with endorsement from an appropriate authority at Monash will be accepted and processed. Registrations done after the commencement of the overseas experience will not be considered.
Program Costs
Students should consider the following program related expenses for budgetary purposes:
- Return flights and transfers
- accommodation
- visa (if required - see information below)

- Personal expenses.
