Profile

Caroline is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences at Monash University, where she holds the position of Director of Education.

Caroline has extensive experience in health professions education (medical imaging and radiation sciences) including curriculum development, innovative pedagogical approaches, program evaluation and accreditation and she has led the creation, implementation and evaluation of numerous programs from inception to delivery.

Caroline's goals in education are to create sustainable, student centred, engaging, authentic and evidence based teaching, learning and assessment strategies, which allow students to develop confidence and capability.

Caroline is currently course coordinator for the Master of Advanced Radiation Therapy Practice and she continues to be actively engaged in teaching.

Caroline has a keen interest in scholarship and research in health professions education with research interests which include online learning, simulation, work-integrated learning, advanced health care practice, professionalism and fitness to practise.

Caroline continues to be involved in research for breast cancer and communication in cancer care, professional development, workforce and advanced practice as well as advanced treatment techniques.

Caroline has received over $1,000,000 in competitive funding as Chief investigator/Consultant for educational and curriculum related projects in radiation therapy and has collaborated with clinical partners and universities throughout Australia and internationally.

Caroline supervises a range of Higher Research Degree students at Monash and the University of Exeter where she is an Honorary academic.

Caroline ranks in the top 10% of RT published experts in the world (https://Expertscape.com) and is recognised as an international keynote speaker, curriculum reviewer, external examiner, and Foundation Chair of the Australian and New Zealand Medical Radiations Research Network and the International Community of Educators in Radiation Therapy.

Caroline held an appointment on the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA) between 2018 and 2024 sitting on multiple MRPBA and AHPRA committees and working groups and in recognition of her Outstanding Contribution to the Profession of Radiation Therapy in Australia, Caroline was the recipient of the 2023 the Varian Award.
