Profile

Carolynne is a senior sonographer with more than 30 years’ experience. She brings diverse clinical, educational and leadership experience to the university. She is a senior lecturer in the Master of Medical Ultrasound program, a passionate ultrasound educator and is currently completing a PhD titled ‘Development of point-of-care ultrasound education in Australasia’. Carolynne has actively served the wider ultrasound community in various board, committee and advisory roles. She presently sits on the Australasian Sonographers Association’s (ASA) Fellowship panel, Scope of Practice panel, and Clinical Supervision special interest group. She is a previous Chairperson of ASA Victorian committee and a past elected Director of Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Groups.
Carolynne has been recognised for her contributions to the profession, receiving an ASA Sonographer of the Year (Victoria) award in 2022, ASA Educator of the Year award in 2016, and was recognised as an inaugural ASA Fellow in 2018. She is a peer reviewer for several journals and is a regularly invited conference speaker. Carolynne has particular interest in interprofessional collaboration, education and research.
