Profile:
Ayyaz holds a Bachelor of App.Sci in Medical Radiations, specialising in Medical Imaging, and a Masters in Magnetic Resonance Imaging. He is currently a PhD candidate under the supervision of Professor Farshad Foroudi (Director of Radiation Oncology at Austin Health) and Professor Sergio Uribe (Director of Research) in the Department of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences at Monash University.
His research focuses on the use of MRI-guided radiation therapy to improve treatment outcomes for breast cancer patients. Specifically, his work explores how integrating MRI with radiation therapy can enhance treatment precision and effectiveness, particularly by sparing healthy tissue while accurately targeting tumours.
Ayyaz is currently the Year 3 Coordinator for the Bachelor of Radiography and Medical Imaging (Honours) program. He also serves as the course director for the postgraduate medical imaging program, which includes the graduate certificate in magnetic resonance imaging and the master of advanced medical imaging practice.
