Profile

Nirusha graduated from Monash University with first-class honours in 2016 and was awarded the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT) prize for the highest aggregate marks throughout the Bachelor of Radiography and Medical Imaging degree. Since her graduation, Nirusha has worked in both tertiary public hospitals and private practices across a range of modalities including CT and MRI. In 2020, Nirusha completed a Graduate Certificate in Magnetic Resonance Imaging and received her ASMIRT Level 1 MRI accreditation in 2022. Currently, Nirusha is a senior MRI radiographer with one of Victoria’s largest private medical imaging providers, where she is also the designated tutor radiographer across several clinical sites for students on clinical placement.

Nirusha has been teaching at Monash University since 2017. She began as a sessional teaching associate within the Department of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences. She has taught first and second year students in a variety of subjects including Radiologic Physics, Radiographic Positioning, Interventional and Mobile Radiography and Trauma Imaging. In 2023, Nirusha commenced the role of Assistant Lecturer with the Department of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences.
