The short course in ‘Healthcare Law and Regulation for Medical Radiation Practice’ is for Medical Radiation Practitioners looking to extend their knowledge and meet continuing professional development needs. All qualified Medical Radiation Practitioners are eligible for admission.
The Healthcare Law & Regulation for Medical Radiation Practice module explores the medico-legal aspects of the Australian healthcare system and the importance of regulation in the practice of medical radiation science.
Our suite of self-directed modules is delivered through the Moodle online learning platform, enabling you to engage in professional learning anywhere, anytime.
The program enables you to build on your existing knowledge, analyse and reflect on your own practice and current evidence to further develop as a professional.
By completing this module you’ll be able to discuss the different types of law and how it relates to healthcare, as well as the legal requirements and issues surrounding informed consent, negligence, duty of care, provision of information and patient confidentiality.
You will also recognise the importance of the national registration requirements and the regulation of Medical Radiation Practitioners in Australia, with an understanding of the role of AHPRA, MRPBA and ASMIRT in the process.

On completion of Healthcare Law & Regulation for Medical Radiation Practice, you’ll receive a Certificate of Completion from Monash University.

The module is available for a period of 12 weeks and should take approximately 18-24 hours to complete.
