First Steps Sessions

Compulsory

The first step to take when considering a global experience is to attend a Monash Abroad First Steps session. Attendance at these sessions is compulsory to be considered for exchange. In this session we’ll cover:

  • types of programs available
  • whether you are eligible
  • how to register for semester exchange and study abroad
  • how you can finance your trip

Regional Advising Sessions

Compulsory

Regional Advising Sessions are run by the Monash Abroad International Education Coordinators (IEC), and will cover the in-depth regional-specific information regarding your exchange. The IECs can provide answers to specific questions you may have about your exchange.

Following Regional Advising Sessions, your will be linked to book in a 1:1 meeting with your IEC, should it be required for your region or institution selection.

Please note that we are offering additional live-stream (Zoom) sessions with the relevant IEC each week. You must have watched both First Steps as well as the relevant RAS (link above) before you can book in for one of these sessions below.

Funding Your Time Abroad

Optional

Our funding sessions will take you through some hints and tips for preparing yourself for the financial aspects of exchange. At this session we'll cover

  • The Monash Abroad Travel Grant
  • OS-HELP Loans and eligibility
  • Other travel scholarships and grants available to students
  • Tips for saving and spending money wisely whilst abroad
