Regional General Manager
Laura, once an overseas student from China, has enjoyed over 20 years banking experience across Asia and Australia.
She worked for Bank of China (China), Dao Heng Bank (now DBS) (Hong Kong) before pursuing postgraduate studies in Finance and Economics in Australia.
She joined NAB from RMIT Graduate school for a 19-year career there to build experiences in multiple sectors, chiefly in property, export trade, food & agribusiness. Laura has been actively dealing with Australian businesses, Asian and China investors on trade and investment opportunities across these sectors. She is multi skilled to look after customer relationships, leading teams and heading up strategic roles.
Laura recently joined Westpac Agribusiness as Regional General Manager to look after a distribution business in Northern Victoria region covering key agricultural corridors in Mildura, Swan Hill, Shepparton, Echuca and Deniliquin.
Laura is passionate about business relationships between Australia and China. She has been actively promoting healthy relationship through business dealings, public engagement, thought leadership developments and social media. She was predominantly featured on front cover by The Australian through its annual drawcard conference The Global Food Forum.
Laura graduated as GAICD from AICD and the Agribusiness program at Harvard Business School. She remains an active Vice-Chair for Food and Agribusiness Committee, Vice President at Aust-China Business Council, Victoria. She is also a member of the Industry Advisory Board at Department of Marketing and guest lectured at Monash Business School on Agribusiness Financing.
