The Art of a Safer Community: Explorations of Resilience, Healing and Recovery

Student artwork exhibition

Monday 27 July - Friday 21 August 2026
Level 1, Matheson Library, Clayton campus

The Safer Community Unit, in collaboration with Monash University Library, the William Cooper Institute and the Department of Fine Art, presents an exhibition of artworks that reflect on resilience, healing and recovery.

Created by students for students, these works speak to the experiences of those who come to the Safer Community Unit’s therapeutic spaces to share their stories. Each piece offers a thoughtful and culturally rich interpretation of strength, reverence, stillness and regeneration.

You are invited to visit the exhibition and take a moment to reflect on safety and wellbeing in our community – as envisioned by our community.
