APG5237 Political, Social and Economic Change
APG5237 Political, Social and Economic Change
The tour will immerse you in the political, philosophical and economic issues of India, one of Australia's most important partners in the Indo-Pacific region. MPP students will meet with and learn from academics and practitioners in the fields of politics, philosophy and economics. In so doing, you will analyse the causes and consequences of the changing power dynamics in Australia’s geo-political region, and comprehend the political, philosophical and economic perspectives of the host country. By the end of this study abroad, MPP students will have a comprehension of the social and economic forces shaping the coming century and the diverse ideas emerging to interpret this change.
Starting in Mumbai, you will spend the first few days acclimatising while exploring sites relevant to the cohort. The group will then travel to Pune for eight days at Symbiosis International University (SIU). The program combines seminars and local excursions, with opportunities to learn alongside Indian students. The tour will return to Mumbai for a series of city-wide excursions that will consolidate the in-class learning and cultural understanding gained at SIU.
